Ashley Williams has a lot to thank the Hallmark Channel for. As the 47-year-old actress celebrated Hallmark's 25th anniversary, she revealed a shocking story from set.
Ashley welcomed her first son, Gus, with husband Neal Dodson on October 5, 2014 and quickly introduced him to life on the set of a Hallmark film. Just a few months after Gus was born, the actress took him to work with her for her first ever Hallmark film.
"Fun fact, I did a movie called October Kiss and I was pumping in the basement of that house for the whole movie," Ashley told HELLO! at Hallmark's 25th anniversary at 92NY on Tuesday, August 4. "The refrigerator in the kitchen set is full of breast milk when you watch the movie."
Ashley broke into the Hallmark world in October Kiss alongside Sam Jaeger and has gone on to appear in dozens more films, becoming a Hallmark fan favorite. And her family has been there with her through it all.
Inside Ashley Williams' family life
In 2011, Ashley tied the knot with husband Neal after meeting him in 2003. Their wedding was held at her sister Kimberly Williams-Paisley and husband Brad Paisley's Nashville home.
Soon after the ceremony, the couple grew their family. Three years after welcoming Gus, Ashley gave birth to their second son Odie Sal on May 17, 2017. Her boys are a fixture of her time on Hallmark sets, so much so that they are part of some of her co-stars' favorite moments.
"One of my fondest memories was working with Ashley and her having her baby on set," Ashley's fellow Hallmark star Holly Robinson Peete told HELLO!. "[She] literally nursed in between scenes."
"I had already stopped nursing by then, but just watching her do that, [Hallmark] giving her room to do that, I think that needs to be said," Holly continued, adding: "As working women, especially when we have babies, we don't have those opportunities."
Ashley's dedication to Hallmark
After Ashley starred in October Kiss, she went on to become somewhat of a Hallmark legend. She's starred in some 20 films for the network, all while raising her children. As the actress told HELLO!, to her Hallmark means: "love and family."
Ashley has starred in five films with Holly, forging a strong friendship. Aside from working with the 61-year-old actress, Ashley just announced her next collaboration with her best friend, Days of Our Lives actress Alison Sweeney.
"@alisweeney and I are coming back together again and hitting up your TVs this Christmas with all new characters and a completely different story than the last time we worked together," the actress wrote to Instagram. "It's everything you all loved about Barcelona but now its the holidays and things are about to go really, really wrong. It's the greatest thing in the world to get to work with my best friends. What a dream! Love you all!"
