Craig Melvin is celebrating the end of the summer break and his kids, Delano and Sybil, returned back to school this week. The Today Show host took to Instagram on August 26 to share a series of photographs of his children on their first day back at school – and his son Delano looks so tall.

The first snap captured Delano and Sybil as they posed outside their school holding up sweet signs. Sybil, who was dressed in denim shorts and white sneakers, celebrated her first day of 4th grade while Delano, who rocked a white T-shirt and shorts, smiled for his first day of 7th grade.

Another photograph showed Craig, who wore a red-and-white polo shirt and light blue pants, walking with his son on their way to school. Delano looked noticeably taller as he strolled alongside his dad.

The final picture was a sweet family selfie to commemorate the milestone day. "Back to school they go! So proud of these two and can’t wait to see all they accomplish this year," penned Craig in the caption.

Craig and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, met while both working at NBC Washington, with Craig enlisted as a news anchor in 2008 and Lindsay boasting the title of sports anchor. The pair tied the knot in 2011 with a wedding in Washington D.C. – the city where they met – at the Church of the Holy City. They later welcomed their son, Delano, in 2014, and their daughter, Sybil, in 2016.

According to Realtor.com, the family's home in Connecticut is worth an estimated $6.2 million and with six bedrooms and a whole host of amenities, it's not surprising. While Craig is from Columbia, SC, he relocated to Westport, CT, from Washington, DC, almost a decade ago when he joined Today

Craig has been open about parenthood in the past and even published a children's book in 2024 titled I'm Proud of You. The NBC anchor spoke to Garden & Gun about the venture. "I didn’t even realize some of the emotions I'm capable of having until I had my own children. I wanted to write a book that helped all the dads out there. It's a love letter to fatherhood," he said.

Craig joined as a regular host on the NBC show following Hoda Kotb's departure in January 2025. In an interview on The Pivot podcast, the news anchor opened up about the "sacrifices" he's made for his job on the Today Show. "I've done morning television for a long time," he shared. "People who are really good at something, you're sacrificing time, sacrificing money, you're sacrificing relationships. We're all sacrificing something. For me, I had to make peace with what I was sacrificing."
