The Modern Family actor has undergone an incredible transformation in recent years

Eric looked so svelte in the photo shared on Instagram, which showed him in the green striped romper with a waist-cinching belt. "What a lucky girl," one fan wrote in the comment section, while another added: "I must say Eric, you look absolutely stunning."

Another chimed in: "That jumper is pretty slick," while a fourth said: "You look awesome."

A wake-up call

The Modern Family actor has been open about his health journey in recent years, after he began receiving Mounjaro injections to combat his type 2 diabetes.

He was diagnosed with the chronic health condition in 2009, but kept it a secret from his friends, family, and even his wife, Lindsay, for several years.

"I was embarrassed. I didn't want to tell anybody," he explained to People"I knew my mom and dad were both type 2 diabetics and didn't share it with them. If I was dating a person, I never shared that with them. I didn't tell my two best friends for a long time."

"I would hide my injectables and my pills from [Lindsay]," he continued. "I didn't want her to open the fridge and see something in there." Eric didn't take his diagnosis seriously for a long time, but intervention from his doctors and the thought of not being there for his stepsons ultimately set him on a healthy path in 2022.

His journey with GLP-1s

He began taking Mounjaro in 2022

He began taking Mounjaro, a GLP-1 medication designed for diabetics to decrease appetite and help lower blood sugar, and shared with USA Today that he had never felt better.

"Look, I'm not all of a sudden going to be Brad Pitt over here and chiseled at 175 lbs. Let's be real clear about that. I'm always going to be a big-boned, Kansas, corn-fed dude," he told the outlet. "But clothes fit better, which is exciting. I'm going down in size, which is exciting. Wardrobe people on shows won't be so shocked when they hear I'm a size 50 jacket…It's funny. So that's exciting."

The TV star shared that he had dropped several clothing sizes

Despite his incredible transformation, Eric has received backlash for his use of Mounjaro, with social media users claiming that he took a shortcut to weight loss.

"People suck on social media, and people will say mean things inevitably, and that's fine. I get it. You have to wake up and be mean to somebody to make yourself feel better," he said. "But it's worked for me, and I can't judge anyone else's reason for getting on any of these other drugs."
