Chrissy Metz celebrated her 46th birthday on Tuesday, September 29. And this milestone marks more than just a new year. The Hunting Wives actress is making a fresh start.
Chrissy, who broke onto the scene in 2016 as Kate Pearson in This Is Us, is in the midst of a major transformation. The actress moved away from Los Angeles in 2020 after living there for 21 years for Nashville to pursue a career in the music industry.
"My family is in Florida, where I'm from, and during the pandemic, I could drive to them from here," she told People at the time. "It's just a better quality of life here. Everything is 15 minutes away, and it's just so much less stress."
© Getty ImagesAnd, in August 2026, the actress shared that after years of trying different approaches to weight loss, she has finally tried a GLP-1, and has zero regrets.
She opened up about her hesitation to start taking GLP-1s to People, saying: "I was like, 'I'm not taking this medication. I don't wanna do this. It's not gonna work for me.' You know, all the things. But when I realized food noise was really a thing, that consumed a lot of my head space, I was like, 'Oh.'"

"I just vilified food for so long because I was taught that it was bad, and you shouldn't eat this or that."
The actress went on: "I know it's not a magic wand, and I need to change other things, so I've been working with a trainer, and I'm lifting and putting on muscle and and it's really about how comfortable I am, and learning what I'm capable of, so I really try not to have a number. I just want to feel strong and not have my morning ruined because I stepped on a scale and I'm several pounds above what I think I should be."

Not only is Chrissy transforming her body, but she is enjoying her love life too. The actress hasn't revealed her boyfriend's name, but she's opened up about his impact on her life.
"He's so supportive and so kind," she said of her boyfriend who is an electrical engineer, adding: "I'm like, this relationship makes me feel good about myself? What's the catch?"

During a June 2026 appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, which you can watch below, the actress said: "The first couple of days of rehearsals, I cried. I called my boyfriend, 'I don't think I can do this. I don't think this is for me.' And he's like, 'Chrissy, you have done so many hard things in your life and you would regret it if you didn't follow through.'"
Chrissy added: "It's so nice to have someone who just loves you and champions you, but doesn't want anything from you." Sheinelle Jones chimed in, noting how the actress's eyes twinkled while she spoke about her boyfriend.
