Cameron Diaz brought understated glamour to a star-studded wedding on Saturday, with darker-looking hair offering a striking departure from her familiar California blonde.
The 54-year-old actress attended Matthew Lowe and Emily Markus's Santa Barbara nuptials on 10 October, wearing a silky black minidress with a V-neckline and flowing sleeves.
Her long hair was swept into a deep side parting, with an ashy brunette appearance through the lengths and lighter highlights around her face and ends.
Cameron Diaz's darker-looking hair recalls an earlier brunette era
For fans who associate Cameron with bright blonde hair, the wedding look offers quite a contrast. Her blonde bob in There's Something About Mary remains one of her most recognisable screen hairstyles, helping define the character's playful look in the 1998 romantic comedy.
But Cameron has experimented with darker shades before. While promoting The Holiday in 2006, she appeared with brunette hair, a noticeable change from the blonde style she wore as Amanda Woods in the film.
Photographs from that press tour captured the actress pairing her deeper colour with side-swept bangs and glamorous red-carpet outfits.
Cameron Diaz joins Hollywood guests at Matthew Lowe's wedding
Cameron was photographed alongside fellow actress Zoe Saldaña at the celebration, which brought together some of Hollywood's most familiar faces.
The groom, Matthew, 33, is the eldest son of Rob Lowe and his wife, Sheryl Berkoff. He and Emily became engaged in July 2025 before exchanging vows in California this weekend.
Gwyneth Paltrow officiated the ceremony, while Katy Perry, Chris Pratt, Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo and Maria Shriver were among the guests.
Matthew's younger brother, John Owen Lowe, also attended the family occasion.
Cameron Diaz's growing family and acting comeback
The outing follows a significant year for Cameron and her husband, Good Charlotte musician Benji Madden.
On 4 May, Benji announced that they had welcomed their third child, a son named Nautas. The couple, who married in 2015, are also parents to daughter Raddix, born in December 2019, and son Cardinal, whose arrival they announced in March 2024.
Their announcement did not disclose further details of Nautas's birth, and the couple continue to keep their children's photographs private.
Alongside her growing family, Cameron has been building on her return to acting. She reunited with Jamie Foxx for Netflix's Back in Action, released in January 2025 after her lengthy break from films.
This year, she appeared in Jonah Hill's dark comedy Outcome, which premiered on Apple TV in April. Cameron plays Kyle, a longtime friend of Keanu Reeves's character, alongside a cast including Matt Bomer.
At home, Benji's announcement offered a simple glimpse of their priorities: "We love life with our family- our kids are healthy&happy, and we are grateful!!!"
