Supermodel Lara Stone has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 42.

The Dutch model, who was previously married to British comedian David Walliams, shared the devastating news with her Instagram followers on Saturday, October 31 2026, revealing that she is already undergoing treatment.

The mother of two admitted that the diagnosis had come as a "huge shock" but expressed her gratitude that the disease had been detected early.

Choosing to make the announcement on the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lara explained that she hoped sharing her experience would encourage other women to prioritize their health.

"Since it's still officially Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share that I have recently been diagnosed and am undergoing treatment for breast cancer," she wrote.

"This has obviously been a huge shock, and I'm so grateful to have found it early."

The former Calvin Klein model, who rarely discusses her private life publicly, explained that she wanted to use her platform to raise awareness about the importance of checking for changes in the body.

She said that if her announcement encouraged even one person to check their breasts or book an overdue medical appointment, it would be worth sharing her personal news.

"Please don't ignore changes to your body," she urged, alongside a graphic reminding followers that checking their breasts could save their lives.

British model Laura Bailey also offered her support, commenting: "Sending love x."

Lara has not revealed when she received her diagnosis, the stage of her cancer or what type of treatment she is undergoing.

The former Victoria's Secret model is a mother to two sons, Alfred, 13, whom she shares with her ex-husband David Walliams, and three-year-old Bob, whom she welcomed with her second husband, British property developer David Grievson, in July 2023.

Lara and David Walliams married in 2010 before separating five years later. Speaking previously about their son, Lara explained that Alfred was equally happy spending time with both parents.

The model found love again with David Grievson, whom she met through the dating app Tinder in 2018. The couple became engaged in 2020 and married in July 2021.

Lara, who has worked with some of the world's biggest fashion houses, including Chanel, Prada, Versace and Louis Vuitton, has enjoyed a hugely successful modeling career spanning more than two decades.

Now, as she undergoes treatment, the model is using her platform to encourage others to be vigilant about their health.
