X Factor's Diana lands Jane Horrocks' 'Little Voice' role

Eighteen-year-old Diana Vickers, who reached the semi finals of the talent contest in 2008, is due to star in a West End revival of The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice.

Following in the footsteps of Lancashire-born actress Jane Horrocks, Diana will play Laura, a shy and lonely young girl who impersonates iconic singers like Edith Piaf and Shirley Bassey.

Writer Jim Cartwright's play went on to become a hit movie in 1998, again starring Jane who won a Bafta for her portrayal of the character.

Diana is due to make her stage debut this autumn.
