Red meat has had a bad reputation for much of the past few decades.

But nutritionists are now claiming that much of the information out there is fiction rather than fact.

They say that lean red meat provides a wealth of nutritional benefits that make it a part of healthy balanced diet.

Nutritionist Dr Carrie Ruxton addresses the five common misconceptions about meat and health and explains how it actually can help offset cardiovascular disease.
