It was second time fronting the prestigious Golden Globe awards - and Ricky Gervais was holding nothing back.
From Mel Gibson to Bruce Willis, Robert Downey Jr and Hugh Hefner, it seemed no-one was safe as the English comedian presented Sunday's ceremony with some cutting edge humour.
Ricky quickly established the tone of the evening.
Walking on stage at the start of the show, he quipped: "It's going to be a night of partying and heavy drinking.
"Or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast."
He also poked fun at the 2010 collaboration from Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, both of whom were in the audience.
"Seems like everything this year was three-dimensional," he said. "Except the characters in The Tourist."
But it seems that The Office star entertained his American audience more than he offended.
30 Rock star Alec Baldwin was seen wiping tears from his eyes, while Robert De Niro and Halle Berry were in fits of laughter.
