Russell Crowe camps out in caravan with rest of Robin Hood crew

Friday June 19, 2009

The juxtaposition of a 21st century helicopter and medieval warriors was a strange one as the chopper hovered over a cinematic battle on a Welsh shoreline this week. It was filming a scene for Russell Crowe vehicle Robin Hood .

The action unfolded on a blustery beach in west Wales, the second location for the film parts of which have also been shot in Sherwood forest.

And, contrary to reports that he would be commuting by helicopter every day from a relative's mansion in Windsor, the main man is camping out with the rest of the crew in caravans close to the location.

Weather conditions since the production team arrived in the principality have been challenging, but that apparently hasn't worried the Antipodean star.

"Russell is a tough Kiwi. He's no diva and he's used to roughing it in the wild. He's staying in a caravan behind the beach just like everybody else," says a source.
