J LO HITS A ROMANTIC HIGH NOTE WITH HER LEADING MAN

10 AUGUST 2006

Most old-fashioned romantics would relish the chance to be serenaded by an adoring admirer. A-list couple Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez have managed to go one better, though, by singing to each other on stage in New York's Madison Square Garden.

Thousands of eager fans turned out to see the glamorous pair perform their heart-felt duet on Wednesday night. Both husband and wife were born and bred in the Big Apple, so the concert provided a fitting moment for them to join together in song.

The performance came as Marc Anthony brought the appropriately named 'Juntos' tour, which means 'together' in Spanish, back to the city of his birth. And although the 36-year-old salsa star was the main attraction at the event, his beautiful wife managed to make an equally unforgettable impression as she sang her heart out in a stunning strapless gown.

Jennifer's appearance came just after she set the rumour mill turning by pulling out of the forthcoming Dallas movie. The Tinseltown press is currently awash with reports she decided to ditch the film, which is to star John Travolta, Owen Wilson and Shirley MacLaine, because she is expecting a baby. There was no sign of a bump when she took to the stage on Wednesday, though, so fans will just have to wait and see if there's any substance to the stories.
