Considering her Scandinavian looks, it comes as no surprise to learn that blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson has Finnish roots. And the actress, whose grandfather hails from Finland, recently fulfilled what she described as a "lifelong dream" in taking her dad Barry to the Nordic country for a special father and daughter trip. "Our heritage is here, we are both excited. We will be taking lots of saunas," she wrote on her personal website after their arrival.

And it seems the 39-year-old has been flexing her language skills on the visit. "I'm surprised at how much of the language I retained from before I was ten years old, speaking with my grandfather," she adds. "It came back quick. I'm going to learn more and more." Her Finland stay was timed to coincide with the Raumanmeri midsummer music festival in Rauma near Helsinki, which she helped co-host. Pamela was joined on stage by her proud dad and fellow Canadian-Finnish fashion designer Peter Nygard.

The mum-of-two enjoyed rediscovering her Finnish heritage so much she says she plans to build a holiday house there. "It is the most beautiful countryside," she reveals. "I will have a summer home there one day and plan on going back every summer to enjoy the midnight sun."
