The 36-year-old musician asks his girlfriend: "I just want to know," to which she replies: " "You want to know what?"
Kanye responds: "If you'll marry me," and the reality TV beauty whispers: "Of course."
Kanye then presents the 33-year-old with a red box containing a stunning 15-carat diamond ring crafted by celebrity jeweller Lorainne Schwartz.
Providing the ambiance was a 50-piece orchestra playing Lana Del Rey's Young and Beautiful, fireworks, burning flames, and – just in case there was any doubt as to what Kanye was hoping for – a message flashed up on huge screens asking: "Pleeease Marry Meee!!!"
And unbeknown to Kim, her family and friends – dressed up to the nines – were watching the moment from the dug out of the stadium.
Kim's sister Khloé can be heard whispering: "I can't breathe. This is the best thing I've ever seen in my life. I’m gonna cry. I didn't know this was real. This is a movie."
Kanye had planned the elaborate event, keeping it a secret from everyone except Kim's mother Kris Jenner.
The family were told that Kanye was simply planning a birthday surprise for Kim. But they began to suspect that there was more to the plan than he was letting on when they arrived at the baseball stadium ahead of Kanye and Kim.
Kim's little sister Kendall Jenner said: "There's no way it can just be a surprise for Kim. There's something bigger."
When the true purpose of the evening became clear, Kendall and Khloé can be seen gasping in shock. After Kim accepted Kanye's proposal, their friends and family ran out on the pitch to congratulate them.
"Kanye really outdid himself. It feels like I’m in a dream. It's just the most amazing experience," the reality TV beauty told cameras afterwards.
"I am the biggest investigator, so the fact I didn't see one sign of this happening is the surprise of a lifetime."
