While his family have been in the celebrity spotlight more than ever, Robert Kardashian has been keeping a very low profile. He missed their colour-coordinated appearance in support of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly his stepfather Bruce, at the ESPY awards. Rob was also a no show at the extravagant 18th birthday celebrations for his little sister Kylie at which she received a Ferrari.
However, it seems that now the 28-year-old is ready to take baby steps back into the public arena. He has returned to Instagram with seven posts, two of which were dedicated to his adorable niece North West, the daughter of his sister Kim and husband Kanye West.
The latest shows an internet meme with North striking exactly the same pose as her rap star dad. Rob captioned it: "Happy sundayyyyy yallllll". Another one a few days ago showed Kanye giving his little girl a sweet kiss.
His sister seemed to appreciate the gesture as she later tweeted about a hike the two of them had been on together – a tweet Rob also posted on his Instagram site.
Their rapprochement comes after the business graduate deleted all the pictures on his account except for an unflattering post in March, in which he seemed to compare Kim to the deranged anti-heroine of psychological drama Gone Girl. The reality TV queen explained that she felt that her brother was still struggling to come to terms with the loss of their father Robert senior in 2003.
Kim also suggested that he had been hit hard by the break up of their sister Khloé and her husband Lamar. "He was extremely close to Lamar," she said. "When Khloé and him broke up, that was really hard on him."
His recent return to social media has been welcomed by his 3.3 million followers, with each post receiving hundreds of thousands of likes. Fans made supportive comments such as this one from a user named lionwomanroarrr: "WE MISS YOU ROB! Youre a sweetheart no matter what xXx". Another called lupis023 advised him: "Take your time. You are great" with the caption accompanied by a power fist.
