"She had an incredible gift for always being right …. which must have been a true burden for her as she was also incredibly patient with us mere mortals. Fay, I love you more than words can express."

Fay passed away on Sunday at the age of 81 at her home in Mount Eliza in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, Australia, after she lost her battle with a lengthy illness.

In a statement, released by Daily Mail, Hugh's wife Deborra-Lee Furness said her mother will "forever be in their hearts".

"The most beautiful woman I have ever known has left us… Only on the physical realm," she said.

"Her enduring spirit however will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends. She has left an indelible footprint on so many peoples lives… through her warm, open welcoming personality she has touched people."
