Designer Roberto Cavalli confirms J Lo's pregnancy

31 OCTOBER 2007

Jennifer Lopez's rumoured pregnancy has been the talk of showbiz circles for months, and now designer Roberto Cavalli has unwittingly confirmed she is expecting her first child. The Italian fashion guru let slip the star's secret when asked by a US magazine what type of clothing he designs for his celebrity clients. "Well Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby," he responded.

"It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger," he added during a party to promote Roberto Cavalli Vodka at his New York showroom on Tuesday. Thirty-eight-year-old Jennifer, who is currently on tour with husband Marc Anthony and, like Christina Aguilera, is yet to comment officially on her baby joy, has been seen on stage in plenty of loose-flowing costumes, as opposed to her usual body-fitting numbers.

It's not the first time a designer has announced a star's pregnancy. Actress Naomi Watts was surprised to find her pregnancy news broadcast to the world by fashion house Escada, who revealed she was expecting in a press release following the Oscars.
