Fashion icon, model mum and lingerie guru Elle Macpherson hits the landmark age of 40 on Monday, and the 6ft-tall beauty who earned the nickname "The Body" shows no sign of slowing down.
The Australian-born cover girl has plenty on her plate at home, raising six-year-old Flynn and one-year-old Aurelius, whose father is longtime partner Arpad Busson. She's juggling mommyhood with a full-time professional life which includes her own lingerie line, Elle Intimates, as well as a soon-to-be launched range of cosmetics.
Meanwhile, the statuesque supermodel is also looking towards a blossoming acting career. The budding thespian, who has appeared in films such as Sirens and Batman And Robin, has parlayed a recent stint as Joey's sexy roommate on Friends into a role on the hit series' upcoming spinoff.
But, though she has much to celebrate this year, it looks like there won't be any high-profile star-studded bashes as Elle rings in the big 4-0. "It will be a quiet one," says her mum Fran of the model's 40th birthday plans. "There won't be any parties. Elle loves celebrating, but not this year."
