As summer draws to a close, Helen George has been making the most of its final days and has left us dazzled with one particular snap from her idyllic break.

The mother-of-two kissed goodbye to the holidays with a string of snaps from her exciting few weeks with her friends and family.

One photo that caught our attention was a photo of the Call the Midwife star, 42, enjoying time with her pals while on board an exquisite-looking boat.

With a drink in hand, the blonde bombshell rocked a beige bikini top and light-wash denim shorts as she beamed for the camera, ensuring to slip on a pair of stylish sunglasses to battle the beating rays.

"The summer that everything shifted. A summer I’m not ready to say goodbye to…," she penned in the caption. One of her friends replied, "Summer of dreams," to which the actress replied, "Yes," alongside a red love heart emoji.

Other photos from the update saw Helen enjoying a spot of paddleboarding alongside her beautiful daughters, Ivy and Wren, whom she shares with her ex-partner and Call the Midwife co-star, Jack Ashton.

Another saw her backstage at the Barbican, where Helen is currently playing Tracy Lord in High Society, reading tarot cards under candlelight.

Helen's amicable co-parenting situation with Jack Ashton

While Helen has continued to work over the summer, she and her aforementioned ex and fellow actor Jack - who is currently on tour with Our Man in Havana -  have got their co-parenting routine nailed, he told HELLO! In an exclusive interview in July.

"The thing is [theatre] can be perfect," he explains.  "Especially when your play is up, because you can still do the school runs. And then go to work in the evenings, but touring is trickier because and and this one's, this one works. Because it's touring through the summer, and they won't be at school, so we're less confined by the nine till three."

Jack continued: "So, for instance, they're gonna spend a lot of their summer with their mum and me in various theatres throughout the country. She's on tour as well. I'm hoping that they do seem to enjoy hanging around backstage, and they help out, and they help the stage managers. Hopefully, it will be nice memories for them."

Revealing their golden rule when it comes to co-parenting, Jack explained that after going on tour, his next one must be one that allows him to travel from home.

"I won't be going on tour for a little bit; that's basically the rule. After a play or after a tour, the next will be something that allows me to be at home and then travel from home. Every decision has to be weighed up. If it's going to cause too much stress, then you have to say no, because at the end of the day, the kids, the kids come first."
