The royal family has to adhere to strict dress codes, yet the subtle change-up tends to fly under the radar. The Duchess of Edinburgh opted for a new aesthetic on Thursday as she visited Trinity Park in Ipswich, trading in her go-to accessory for something more practical.

Duchess Sophie shelved her trademark Sophia Habsburg handbag in favour of a classic crossbody design as she greeted onlookers. The royal strapped the leather item over her shoulder, which featured a sand-toned hue and silver hardware.

The mother-of-two paired the functional piece with ME+EM’s ‘Italian Herringbone Boyfriend Blazer in a black-brown tone’ plus the brand’s ‘Cotton Mix Stripe Layering Blouse.’ Duchess Sophie, who, as you can see, is a fervent fan of the sophisticated high street label, completed her on-the-go aesthetic by slipping into a pair of beige suede boots with low heels.

The ever-impressive royal wore her blonde hair tied back into an elegant low ponytail which highlight a glimmering pair of silver drop earrings. She was accompanied by a group of children during her school visit, who were delighted to be in the presence of royalty.

Duchess Sophie’s outfit assemblage skills were presided by her fashion followers, who shared their thoughts with each other online. “I love the blazer,” one wrote, as another said: “So happy she’s repeating this look and it’s very well suited for the more casual outing.” A third agreed, noting: “She looks great,” and a fourth penned: Like the outfit, it suits her.”

Sophie has been rolling out the recycled looks as of late, especially ones sourced from ME+EM. On Wednesday, the Duchess of Edinburgh paid a visit to Moor House School and College in Oxted. For the wholesome outing, the royal relied upon her trusty staple pieces for spring, turning to high street ME+EM for sartorial guidance.
