He often refers to himself as "just a kid" and likes to tell reporters: "I've got a lot of stuff to do yet". Even so, 78-year-old Clint Eastwood got a chance to look back and reflect on his illustrious career at California's Santa Barbara film festival.

The Dirty Harry star received the Modern Master Award – equivalent to a lifetime achievement accolade – from Sean Penn, the Oscar-winning lead from Clint-directed 2003 flick Mystic River.

"He's just been somebody I'm very grateful to have had a chance to work with. And nobody can be called master like Clint, so it's an appropriate honour," said Sean.
