Who is Sharon Marshall?

Sharon Marshall is an entertainment journalist and screenwriter, known to This Morning viewers as the 'Queen of soaps'. 

The now-51-year-old started out her career on Fleet Street, working at the News of the World as the TV editor for ten years before making the move to broadcast journalism.

As well as This Morning, Sharon has appeared on other TV shows such as ITV's Celebrity Fit Club and Loose Women. She's even written episodes for EastEnders and Emmerdale on several occasions.

Who is Sharon Marshall's partner?

Sharon is engaged to her fiancé Paul Fletcher, with whom she shares one daughter, Betsey. 

The soap writer became engaged back in 2019, a year after she and Paul welcomed their daughter into the world. Detailing the sweet proposal during an appearance on This Morning, Sharon told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: "He got down on one knee and Betsey gave me a ring."

Sharon has been very open about her fertility struggle and spoke about her IVF journey during an appearance on This Morning back in 2021. Watch the video below to see her emotional statement.

The journalist told Holly and Phillip about the emotional toll of failed IVF cycles, saying she was "very depressed" during her forties and felt "emotionally and physically" ill from the repeated cycles. 

Explaining why she felt she had to hide her struggles with IVF, she said: "I think I felt embarrassed. I felt I wasn't innately woman… which was a ridiculous way to think… because this is something you’re supposed to do naturally."

Prior to her relationship with Paul, Sharon was married to Bruce Davidson, who serves with the Household Cavalry. The pair tied the knot in 2010 before later going their separate ways.
