You can never have too many pairs of boots, right? Asking for a friend…

When the colder temperatures take over, our boots wish list goes into overdrive. Cosy, chic and infinitely versatile, a stylish pair is worth its weight in gold during both autumn and winter.

There are plenty of covetable designer versions of our footwear go-to that have caught our eye this season. (I'm personally eyeing up some glossy knee-high styles by Gianvito Rossi and Aquazzura.)

But if you're looking for a pair that won't break the bank, high street label Zara has you covered, and we reckon modern It-girl Nicola Peltz would be all over these platforms.

The Welcome To Chippendales star has demonstrated her deep penchant for vertiginous platforms on several occasions. And who could blame her?

Nicola is very susceptible to the intoxicating appeal of 1970s It-girl-esque soles, just as we are. She is unfussy when it comes to toe shapes, having rocked classic round-toes as well as those with a more squared look.

Nicola is a big fan of the platform boot

But judging by her outfit back catalogue, shiny black leather is her favourite colour-texture combination – wearable and timeless in equal parts.

We can totally see Nicola donning these platform boots by high street label Zara. The length of the boot is longer than most ankle boots, finishing around the mid-calf. The curved, blocky heel creates a super interesting line, without detracting from the design's fuss-free elegance.

Platform boots are always a safe footwear investment – and Zara's £69.99 pair would go perfectly with a mini skirt and a chunky polo knit or could easily be dialled up for evening with patterned tights and a sharp blazer dress.
