Unlike many other celebrities who choose to live in London, Carol Vorderman opts for a slightly quieter life in Bristol, a few hours from the UK's capital. Recently, Carol took to Instagram to show off her last meal before embarking on a New Year's diet and inadvertently offered up a look at her cosy living room set-up.

This time, on her Instagram Stories, we could see the star's table positioned directly in front of the television, which is mounted upon the wall. Below the TV set, Carol has an authentic brick fireplace complete with faux log burner.

Various Christmas decorations could be seen around the room including a Santa Claus statue and a glowing reindeer. The maths genius had created a cosy atmosphere with two candles on the table, one in a Christmas tree-shaped holder and another in a vintage crown ornament.

Carole tucked into a plate full of food, along with a glass of white wine. She wrote over the image to explain her reason for posting: "Last big meal before I become one of those BOORRRING buggers on a diet. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED."
