The Cotswolds are vying to be the new London, with many A-listers seeking out this gorgeous part of the UK to call home. In 2008, Jeremy Clarkson bought Diddly Squat Farm on the Sarsden estate in Oxfordshire, and by 2021, he invited cameras to follow him during the farming process. Fast forward to 2026, and season five of the show, Clarkson's Farm, is currently on our screens. We take a look at the other celebrities who have snapped up places nearby…
David and Victoria Beckham
Diddly Squat is just 15 minutes from David and Victoria Beckham's Cotswolds home in Great Tew. In the Netflix docu-series Beckham, fans got to see more of the property than ever before. It's recognisable thanks to its luxury yet rustic interiors. Impressive features include the estate's manmade lake, the giant sauna and hot tub outside and the jaw-dropping dining room where the family loves to host dinner parties.
David has fully embraced country life in the Cotswolds and is a keen gardener and even keeps bees. He likes popping to the Diddly Squat farm shop and has even been pictured giving star of the show, Gerald, a quick cuddle during a farm visit. The former Top Gear presenter took to social media to share a photo of the duo in an embrace. Jeremy captioned the photo: "Gerald always has time for his fans…", with the snap showing David throwing his arm around Gerald's shoulder.
Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi
Ellen Degeneres' countryside home, Kitesbridge Farm, is a 23-minute car journey from the farm. The Hollywood star and her wife, Portia de Rossi, moved to the UK in 2024 after being unhappy with Donald Trump's re-election. The estate, near Burford, was acquired for £15 million in 2024, and then the couple spent a further £7 million on internal and external renovations.
After their home was hit by flooding and there were council debates over the stables they installed, Ellen and Portia decided to sell up. After months of it remaining unsold, it was dramatically pulled from the market, and now it is believed they are looking to stay "long term".
Sir Patrick Stewart
The iconic actor, Sir Patrick Stewart, lives close to Chipping Norton, not too far from the farm. According to Tatler, he bought the residence for £2.2 million in 2005. He has previously complained about the tourism brought to the quiet area by Soho Farmhouse, and he has opposed plans to build a luxury car museum nearby.
Taylor Swift's rental
Taylor Swift was said to be renting a cottage in the area during the UK stint of her Eras Tour. She allegedly booked a £3.3 million countryside abode for the duration of her UK visit, which took place in 2024. The property is a stone's throw away from celebrity-favourite hotspot Soho Farmhouse, located near Chipping Norton.
