Congratulations are in order for Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, who has welcomed her first child with her husband Alexander 'Alick' Dru.

The equestrian, who is the daughter of the King's cousin the Marquess of Milford Haven, announced the exciting news on Instagram over the weekend.

Revealing that her daughter had been born in September, Tatiana wrote: "One month of motherhood… and what a month it's been!" She went on to reveal her baby's name, adding: "Elodie arrived on 20th September. It’s already going far too quickly."

The first photo in the carousel of snaps showed baby Elodie asleep on a playmat wearing a gorgeous green knitted babygro and a matching bobble hat. The next was of Tatiana, 33, lying in bed with her newborn snoozing on her chest. Another featured a close-up of Elodie's hand in Tatiana's.

The new parents have been inundated with flowers and cards as one photo showed. And on Instagram, Tatiana's followers were quick to send their congratulations.

Among them was a message from Flora Vesterberg, the late Queen Elizabeth II's cousin, who replied: "Congratulations! She's adorable! Very proud of you xx."

Tatiana announced her pregnancy back in June, showcasing her blossoming bump in a series of selfies. "I've been a bit quiet on here for a while... been busy finding my perfect wardrobe and growing a small person," she wrote.

She and Alick tied the knot in July 2022 at the iconic Winchester Cathedral. Old Etonian and entrepreneur Alick proposed during a skiing holiday in Verbier just six months prior in January.

A statement in The Telegraph read: "The engagement is announced between Alick, son of Mr and Mrs Bernard Dru, of Bickham, Somerset, and Tatiana, daughter of the Marquess of Milford Haven and Lady Spencer of Alresford."

Through her father, Tatiana is the second cousin once removed of the King, and therefore also the first cousin twice removed of the late Prince Philip. She is the eldest child of George Mountbatten, 4th Marquess of Milford Haven and his wife Sarah.

Her younger brother is Henry David Louis Mountbatten, Earl of Medina while her stepbrother is Harry Wentworth-Stanley, the husband of Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas.

While Alick may not come from the same aristocratic background as his wife, his family tree is still intertwined with the landed gentry. His father, Bernard, is a descendant of Major Alexander Dru and Gabriel Mary Hermione Herbert, tracing his lineage back to John Vesey, 4th Viscount de Vesci, and Henry Howard Molyneux Herbert, 4th Earl of Carnarvon.

Alick's educational background includes attending Eton and studying history at Oxford. He embarked on various ventures, including founding the social travel app Tripr and establishing Spires Tutoring.
