Kate Garraway is a woman after our own hearts with her love of a polka dot. Honestly, you can't move for polka dots but I'm loving that Kate's fresh take on a dotty piece of clothing isn't of the polka dot dress variety, but of the blouse variety. And what I love even more is that it's only £34 and from Marks & Spencer.
The 59-year old presenter was the epitome of quiet luxury in her neutral Good Morning Britain outfit. The polka dot M&S top is part blouse, part top and just what your wardrobe is missing - Kate's perfectly styled outfit gave a chic, luxurious take on wearing separates.
- Kate Garraway looked stunning in polka dots on Good Morning Britain, July 28.
- The 59-year-old wore a polka top from M&S, £34.
- Kate teamed the white and brown dotty blouse with cream wide leg trousers.
The blouse is perfect for summer too, as it's made from a cotton-blend fabric with lyocell and breathable linen. The top features puff sleeves, and is a fitted design that flatters thanks to its square neckline and slightly fitted waist. Fabric covered buttons and lace trim adds a vintage-inspired aesthetic, and I love the tie at the waist so you can cinch it in, or leave it loose.
I love that it's more of a top than a blouse, but is as easy to wear as a blouse; for me, I'd wear with jeans as it's so pretty and would elevate any denim wash, from light to dark.
It's selling fast, and is in and out of stock in sizes 6 - 24. I'm calling that the Kate effect.
How to style a polka dot top like Kate's
- Daytime: As I mentioned, I'm all about wearing this with denim; jeans or shorts are ideal, but you could even stretch to a skirt. Raffia is a dream accessorised with this top, and any sandal would work - flat, chunky or fancy.
- Evening: This is where Kate's outfit comes into play. Wide leg trousers balance out the more fitted proportions of this top, and you can lean into the colourway of the blouse here; cream, white or chocolate brown would be ideal.

It wasn't hard to find some other similar polka dot blouses, and I think New Look's take on the trend is perhaps even prettier than Kate's.
The New Look blouse has a little extra lace detailing down the front, giving a super expensive vibe.
And although the Miss Selfridge blouse isn't brown polka dots, rather black, it is equally as wearable.
Or for a slightly different vibe, Friends Like These has this silky polka dot tea blouse, with lace detailing and cute capped sleeves.
