Shania Twain has been married to the love of her life, Frédéric Thiébaud, for 15 years, but they still experience the occasional "marital issue" just like any other couple.
The 60-year-old revealed that she and Frédéric have very different approaches when it comes to working through any issues in their marriage.
Shania admitted that while she is "a good communicator," she would rather "meditate over the issue, take a walk or be alone with [her] guitar if [she's] having a marital issue."
Her husband, on the other hand, prefers to deal with any conflict immediately.
"Fred wants to talk about it. He wants to talk it through, and he wants to fix it," she told People. "And that's the best advice. I mean, he's not wrong."
In fact, Shania credits her husband's open communication for helping their marriage last as long as it has.
© Getty Images"He's really good at reminding both of us that we have to keep communication open," she explained.
"He's the greatest talker, and he's not inhibited at all with expressing his feelings, which is really wonderful in a man. If you have a man that is really open and wants to keep the communication open, you're blessed as a woman."
Shania admitted that in Fred, she has found her "forever true love." She added: "This is the love I'm going to grow old with and it's a beautiful feeling."
© Getty ImagesShe added: "I'm sure we'll always have romance, but there's a depth and a gratitude that I have about having this love.
"And if I [had] met Fred as a teenager, I do believe that he would have been my lifelong love even from then. It just takes sometimes years to find that person."
The "You're Still the One" singer fell for her husband after the pair discovered their former spouses were having an affair.
© WireImageShania discovered in 2008 that her ex-husband, Robert 'Mutt' Lange, had been cheating on her with her close friend and personal assistant Marie-Anne Thiebaud – who was married to Fred at the time.
Shania and Fred began dating in 2009 and married on New Year's Day 2011 in a small sunset ceremony in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
In May 2024, Shania reflected on her past relationship with Robert, admitting that despite his infidelity, he deserves "empathy and understanding."

She added: "It's about understanding the other person, and that might mean that they're wrong. He's a human being that deserves empathy and understanding. I think we all do; you know.
"So, do I hate my ex -husband for making a mistake? No. It's his mistake. Not my mistake."
