Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's son, James Wilkie, made a surprising statement about his 'modeling career' after showing off his ripped physique in a June photoshoot.
The 23-year-old posed for a series of striking portraits for acclaimed photographer Brad Walsh's book FELLA: Images of Men.
In the images, James shows off his sculpted physique and movie-star looks, posing in a fitted black tank top that highlights his muscular arms and broad shoulders.
Another portrait saw him leaning casually against a fireplace in a vintage graphic T-shirt and paint-splattered pants, while a close-up shot captured his tousled hair, piercing gaze, and undeniable resemblance to both of his famous parents.
The images led many fans to believe that James was setting his sights on a modeling career; however, he has since shut down those rumors.
On Thursday, James was pictured leaving NYC's members-only luxury gym and spa, S10 Training and Recovery, once again showing off his muscular physique in a white tank and shorts.
The snap was shared on photo agency Backgrid's Instagram page, alongside the tagline: "'Gym bro' James Wilkie Broderick shows off his insane body transformation after turning to modelling career."
James shared the post on his Instagram Story and declared that he was "definitely not turning to a modeling career."
He reiterated his statement in the comments section of the original post, writing: "I'm not tryna be a model lol!"
Indeed, James has set his sights on an acting career and has already begun building an impressive résumé.
Before completing his studies at Brown University in 2025, he landed a small role as a valet in the television series Lady in the Lake, starring Natalie Portman.
He later shared the screen with his father when he appeared in an episode of the hit CBS drama Elsbeth in 2025. The experience proved to be a memorable one for both father and son.
"It was great. We had two days together," Matthew previously told E! News.
"It was really fun to hang around the craft service table and eat snacks," he added. "He was nervous, but he got over that. We had a great couple of days."
James also appeared in the 2025 short film Why Not, Pat? and has two upcoming projects already in the pipeline.
According to his IMDb profile, he will appear in the short film Alter Egos and the feature film Days Ending in Y, where he takes on the role of The Kid.
Despite growing up in one of Hollywood's most famous households, Sarah Jessica has always encouraged her children to find their own path.
Speaking on The E! News Sitdown With Bruce Bozzi, the actress reflected on the advice she and Matthew have given their eldest son as he embarks on his career.
"I really want my children to be educated in the ways that are fulfilling to them," she explained.
"I don't think that there is one way to be an educated person or to be equipped to be an adult and try to fashion a life for yourself after what would be considered 'finishing college.'"
The Sex and the City star added that she hopes her children pursue work that is meaningful and challenging while remaining capable of supporting themselves emotionally and financially.
"You want for them to be pursuing things that are exciting and challenging and hard and gratifying and to be able to ultimately take care of themselves, support themselves emotionally, financially," she said.
"And that they can be in the world and be a reliable person to themselves and to other people."
