Hollywood's Steve Carell turns GMTV weatherman

On a day when no one knows quite what to believe, Hollywood star Steve Carell surprised many morning TV viewers as he took to the screens on Thursday, April Fools Day.

The comedy star reprised his legendary role as Anchorman weatherman Brick Tamland by presenting the UK forecast on GMTV.

"We have rain, and more rain... Let's just say this, you will be seeing a lot of rain no matter where you go in the UK," he broadcast.

Currently promoting hiw new movie, Date Night, the actor has also revealed he is keen to star in the Anchorman sequel. "Oh, absolutely. Yeah, in a second," he told MTV.

"I've heard some inklings as to what (director) Adam McKay has in mind for a sequel, and it's really funny. But I couldn't say anything more than that."
