Sandra Bullock on the adoption of 'little Cajun cookie'

Wednesday September 1, 2010

In her first official TV interview since the end of her marriage, Sandra Bullock has revealed how she managed to keep the adoption of her son a secret.

Describing eight-month-old Louis as her "little Cajun cookie", the Oscar-winner credited her close network of friends for helping to keep the news under wraps.

"It takes good people with integrity," the brunette beauty told interviewer Matt Lauer.

"I remember reading something like 'How did someone keep a secret?' and it's – human beings exist that have integrity, they know how to keep their mouth shut – they know the picture, they don’t sell out their friends."

She went on to joke: "They know if they screw up they're not coming on the next vacation, I'm not going to baby-sit their kids. I will cut them, I will take them down."

Speaking about the "long, long process" of adoption, Sandra added: "It was nice to have someone say 'I think you're a fit parent', which is what I heard."

"I got blessed, I got lucky, and he's extraordinary… Louis' got the stage," she said.

The kind-hearted actress was in New Orleans – her son's birthplace - at the weekend to mark the five-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

While there she visited a high school she helped to rebuild for the opening of a new on-campus health clinic (pictured).
