American golfer Tiger woods has become the first figure from the world of sport to earn $1 billion, thanks to sponsorship and golf course design contracts as well as his sporting success.
The 34-year-old reached the milestone figure with the help of a $10 million bonus after winning the recent FedEx Cup (pictured).
At the beginning of the year, dad-of-two Tiger had earned around $900 million, but is believed to have secured another $100 million since.
The golfer - who became the world's best paid sportsman in 2002 when he overtook Formula 1's Michael Schumacher - has enhanced his portfolio since he started designing golf courses.
He has three courses under development and is being paid a reported $10 million for each.
