Golfing ace Tiger Woods has confirmed he will be absent from his own charity tournament this year, due to injuries sustained following his weekend car crash.
"I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week. I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I'm very sorry that I can't be there," he said.
The world champion, who suffered cuts and bruising after colliding with a fire hydrant and a tree, adds that he will be back in action next year.
Meanwhile, Florida police are reportedly seeking a court order to check Tiger's medical records.
The golfer is apparently yet to speak to them after his mystery car accident for a fourth successive day.
Officers are keen to establish whether the sportsman's injuries are a result of the incident, or indicate a domestic dispute with his wife - as some US reports suggest.
