Action hero Pierce Brosnan back in 'The Coup'

Pierce Brosnan will be working for the government once more in a new action movie.

The actor, who starred as James Bond between 1995 and 2002, will play a "heroic government operative" in The Coup, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Pierce, 58, will star alongside Owen Wilson as a protection officer defending a family from Asia's sinister underworld.

Producer Steve Alexander said they were "thrilled" to have the star on board.

He added: "Having Pierce step into the role of a mysterious and ultimately heroic government operative is the perfect compliment to Owen's everyman dilemma."

The thriller will be directed by John Erick Dowdle, who penned the script with his brother Drew Dowdle.
