He has been given the prestigious task of Charlene Wittstock's wedding dress when she marries Prince Albert of Monaco in July.
But lately Giorgio Armani has been busy creating another design suitable for church.
He has produced the vestments for a bishop on the Mediterranean isle of Pantelleria.
The 76-year-old - who has a holiday home there - made a pale green robe with embroidered symbols of the island for Monsignor Domenico Mogavero.
The proud bishop said: "It's not about trying to be fashionable.
"It was an initiative aimed at involving a fashion designer who loves Pantelleria and to capitalise on his originality in the service of faith and ultimately of God."
He added: "I will see him this summer and I'll have the opportunity to thank him personally."
