Reality star Rob Kardashian has denied that he was referring to ex-girlfriend Rita Ora in a  controversial tweet.

Having split up with the singer a matter of days ago after they first came out as a couple in July, the singer tweeted: "She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together, I wonder how many she will sleep with now that we apart? But I mean 20?!!!"

Twitter users presumed that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was referring to the Hot Right Now singer, leading to a unsavoury trend that made a derogatory pun with the singer's name.

Reacting to the backlash, Rob then went on to post: "Just so we clear I never once mentioned Rita Ora in any of my tweets."

Rob, who competed on Dancing With The Stars, added: "Never mentioned any names. I speak truth. I'm a very real dude and everything I say I mean."

Rita recently blamed the split on distance, saying: "I'm not going out with Rob. We were close for a while, but it didn't work because I was never there. I was like a ghost."
