Katy Perry's 2011 off to brilliant start with two trophies

Talk about starting the New Year with a bang.

An overjoyed Katy Perry was celebrating this week after scooping two awards at the People's Choice Awards.

The 26-year-old collect gongs for the Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Online Sensation - beating the formidable Lady Gaga.

And she certainly made an impression with her outfit - a striking yellow and purple prom style dress complete with neon lights. And completing the look were pink satin, peep-toe heels.

Other big winners on the night included the Twilight, Eclipse crew – who got four gongs, including Kristen Stewart's Favourite Movie Actress award.
