Morgan Freeman reaches car crash settlement

Veteran actor Morgan Freeman has reached an out-of-court settlement with a woman who was his passenger in a car accident in August 2008.

Demaris Meyer - who claimed the actor had been drinking on the night of the accident in Mississippi - had previously sued Morgan for negligence.

The travel companion also complained that she had been incorrectly "labelled as the other woman" after the accident and was "accused of having caused the breakup of Mr Freeman's marriage".

"We're all glad it's over with," says the lawyer of the Million Dollar Baby actor, whose case has now been dismissed.
