John Travolta thanks co-stars for stepping in as he grieved for son

Tuesday June 9, 2009

Still shaken by the loss of his beloved son Jett in January, John Travolta didn't feel up to undertaking the round of publicity junkets for his new action-thrillerThe Taking of Pelham 123.  So when his colleagues Denzel Washington, James Gandolfini and Luis Guzman took on added promotional duties for the flick he issued a heartfelt note on his website thanking them for their support.

"Their unselfish efforts have allowed my family the additional time to reconcile our loss," he wrote.

Sixteen-year-old Jett, his elder child with wife Kelly Preston, died after suffering a seizure during a holiday at the family's property in the Bahamas.

In his recent message John went on to urge fans to catch his portrayal of a deranged ex-inmate who takes hostages on a New York subway. "I promise, you won't be disappointed," he assures
