Whitney's got the X Factor: first UK gig in 12 years

Comeback queen Whitney Houston is due to make a guest appearance on this year's X Factor, she has confirmed. 

The 46-year-old will spend time mentoring the remaining hopefuls before taking to the stage to give her first live UK performance in over a decade.

"It should be a fun night. I am a fan of Simon Cowell's and look forward to meeting him," Whitney says.

Her eagerly anticipated appearance can be seen on October 18 - the day before the release of her comeback album, I Look To You.

Another singer adding a touch of stardom to the reality contest is former Take That singer Robbie Williams, who is due to make an appearance this Saturday.
