EastEnder Neil McDermott joins Shrek musical
Former EastEnders star Neil McDermott is joining the cast of Shrek: The Musical.
Neil played Whitney's half-brother Ryan Malloy who left the soap earlier this year after saving his sister from her evil pimp Rob and fleeing police after he beat him to death.
Neil will take over from fellow former Albert Square bad boy Nigel Harman as the diminutive Lord Farquaad, opposite Girls Aloud's Kimberly Walsh as Princess Fiona.
Nigel will bow out of the show on February 27, leaving Neil to step into his shoes.
West End star Dean Chisnall will also take over from Nigel Lindsay as Shrek.
