Trainspotting sequel on cards as Danny mentors film talent

Trainspotting sequel on cards as Danny mentors film talent

With ten Oscars to his name for his last big screen offering Slumdog Millionaire, it's fair to say Danny Boyle knows a thing or two about film making.

Good news then for the participants of the Toronto Film Festival's talent lab -  the British director has signed up to mentor this year's workshop.

Danny, who brought his Mumbai-set tale of rags to riches to last year's festival – will be on hand to offer advice to the 25 participants, who hail from around the world.

Oscar winner Tilda Swinton will also be dropping in on the four-day program - which starts Thursday - to chat about her career.

Meanwhile, it is thought that Danny is close to making the follow-up to his 1996 hit film Trainspotting. Robert Carlyle, who played the character of Begbie in the original film, has said he "knows Danny seems to be edging towards it."

The adaptation of Irvine Welsh's novel, Porno, would pick up on the same characters ten years later.
