Police have revealed that they are looking into 120 different lines of enquiry and possibly as many as 25 victims in reference to the Jimmy Savile sex abuse claims.
The late presenter was formerly accused of eight recorded criminal allegations, including rape and indecent assault.
Commander Peter Spindler has announced that the allegations span over four decades and would suggest "a national scale" of abuse.
The police will also be working with BBC and ITV to investigate the former TV presenter, who hosted shows such as Jim'll Fix It and and Top Of The Pops.
