Winehouse family 'livid' after Amy's home is robbed

Thursday August 11, 2011

It has emerged that several items have gone missing from Amy Winehouse's Camden home.

Her father Mitch believes someone has unlawfully taken unreleased music, lyric books and letters belonging to the late singer.

Around 20 people, comprising solely of friends, family, security and police, have had access to Amy's personal rooms since her death.

It is thought the items were taken by an acquaintance.

So far, just two books have been officially reported missing to the police.

But it is rumoured that more of her invaluable items - including correspondence, tracks, and possibly her favourite guitar - are also absent from the house.

A close friend of the family told the Sun: "This is such a sickening shock to the family.

"That someone would stoop so low. They can't get their heads around it."

"Mitch is livid. The family, record label and management are months away from deciding what to do with any unreleased music.

"For that to be taken out of their hands is horrible."

The source added: "Mitch is willing to give whoever has stolen the items a chance to do the right thing and put them back so it doesn't have to get messy."

Amy's father had plans to release the music as a means of raising funds for the charity he has set up in her name.

He is currently on a family holiday to come to terms with his loss, but plans to take serious steps towards locating the stolen goods upon his return.
