Olivier Martinez has confirmed he is engaged to Halle Berry.

The couple were rumoured to be tying the knot after the Oscar-winning actress was seen wearing an emerald and diamond ring on her ring finger in January.

Olivier's ex-girlfriend Kylie Minogue sparked further speculation when she tweeted her congratulations for the pair: "'Congrats to Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry!! #wedding."

While sources close to Halle denied an engagement, Olivier has now confirmed the news to the Miami Herald, saying: "Yes, of course it's true."

The 46-year-old actor revealed that the ring was designed by Parisian jewellery designer Robert Mazlo.

"He is a real artist, who has been making jewellery for kings and queens for many centuries," he added.

Halle, who has a three-year-old daughter with French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, met Olivier after they co-starred in 2010 action thriller Dark Tide, and their screen chemistry soon led to an off-screen romance.
