Monaco's Albert and Caroline supervise battle of blooms

With spring flowers flourishing in Monaco, Princess Caroline has been busy supervising the principality's annual bouquet competition with a little help from her brother Prince Albert.

The dual theme of this year's competition, now in its 42nd year, was the ballet companies of Russia, the Ballets Ruses, and Monaco's Les Ballets de Monte Carlo.

Classical dance is a theme close to Princess Caroline's heart. The 52-year-old royal, who was accompanied to the flower event by her husband Prince Ernst of Hanover, revived the once famous Monte Carlo ballet company in 1985, in accordance with the wishes of her late mother Princess Grace.
