Russell demands to be flown daily from Windsor to Cardiff

Aussie actor Russell Crowe is asking to flown by helicopter from Windsor to Wales every morning to film his new movie Robin Hood.

Apparently he doesn't fancy staying near the set in Cardiff when filming begins next week. Earlier reports suggested there had been difficulties finding an appropriate base for him in Wales.

If producers succumb to his demands – he's asking to be picked up in the morning from the grounds of the Windsor mansion where he's currently staying and returned there after filming ends in the evening – it will add thousands of pounds to the film's production costs.

The movie's director – who worked with Russell on Oscar-winning flick Gladiator - is understood to be less than enthusiastic about the proposal, and the pair have reportedly clashed on other issues.

In the past Ridley has referred to the "hurricanes" he and the actor have had, although at the time he added: "We have far fewer now"
