Veteran actress Una Stubbs is joining the cast of holiday drama Benidorm as an upper-class snob ill at ease amid the sun loungers of the Costa Blanca.
Her character, Mrs Weedon, arrives in the Spanish resort to spend time with her son Martin, played by Nicholas Burns, and his wife Kate, portrayed by Abigail Cruttenden.
"Her son loves the brashness of Benidorm, but his mum is a totally different person," says an insider on the show. "You can imagine how hilarious the episodes will be."
The 72-year-old first became famous through 1963 Cliff Richard film Summer Holiday, before going on to star in Worzel Gummidge and Till Death Do Us Part.
She'll be seen in Benidorm episodes screened later this year
