Young Ugandan orphan Lydia Amito shared an emotional moment with the Queen during a tea party for performers at the Windsor Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
Eschewing royal protocol, she rushed in to cuddle the monarch who bowed her head and smiled as the little girl embraced her.
Lydia, ten, became an orphan at the age of one when her father was killed by Ugandan rebels and she lost her mother to disease.
