Keanu swaps speed for kung fu in directorial debut

Martix star Keanu Reeves is gearing up to direct his first film after receiving funding to make the film Man Of Tai Chi.

The Speed actor will work with Universal and Wanda Media to make and distribute the martial arts movie.

And enjoying the luxury that comes with being the boss, Keanu will also take a role as the villain, Tiger Chen.

The actor was keen to highlight that he wouldn’t hold back on the fight scenes.

"There's 18 fights. We've timed it out. It's about 40 minutes of fighting" he revealed.

"I want to make a good, solid kung fu movie. Good story, good plot - but let's get some good kung fu going!"

The bilingual movie, which will be filmed in both Mandarin and English, is scheduled to start shooting in February in China.
