Taking in the heady glamour of New York Fashion Week is hardly a normal day in the life of a 17-year old.

But as the muse of Marc Jacobs who has first dibs on all of his beautiful garments, actress Dakota Fanning is one very lucky young lady.

She joined A-listers Sofia Coppola and Rachel Zoe to help the designer draw a glamorous line under New York Fashion Week.

The industry darling brought a big finale with a typically unusual runway show that was an ode to dance halls.

“I just wanted the feel of a southern dance hall,” Marc said backstage.

The set for the show featured a row of posts and beams down the centre of a wide wooden runway and the curtains opened to reveal a line of models draped over chairs.
